We are super excited to announce the newest addition to our Macro Mike family: Rhiannon Clarke, a dedicated and inspiring Paralympic 100m & 400m Sprinter. Rhiannon’s passion, resilience, and drive aligns perfectly with our values at Macro Mike. We're so excited to introduce her to you. Let’s dive in and get to know her better!
Meet Rhiannon Clarke
Hello, everyone! I’m Rhiannon Clarke, a 21-year-old athlete from Perth, Western Australia. Alongside my rigorous training schedule, I am pursuing a degree in Wildlife Conservation. When I'm not on the track, you'll likely find me immersed in my studies or enjoying the great outdoors.
How It All Began
My journey in track and field began at a para-athletics "come try" day. It was a transformative experience that sparked my love for the sport. The inspiration to pursue athletics came from seeing other para-athletes excel and the encouragement from my family and coaches.
Becoming a Paralympian
One of the most significant milestones in my career was making my debut at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Competing on such a prestigious international stage was a dream come true and a testament to years of hard work and dedication.
Why Macro Mike?
Macro Mike stood out to me not only for their commitment to quality and innovation but also for their delicious plant-based products. As an athlete, I am particularly mindful of what I put into my body, and Macro Mike’s offerings align perfectly with my nutritional needs. My favourite product is the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Protein—it’s not only delicious but also HASTA certified, ensuring it meets the highest standards for sports supplements.
A Day in the Life
A typical training day for me starts with a main track or gym session in the morning, followed by a crucial recovery period. I then have another training session in the afternoon. My weekly routine includes three track sessions, three gym sessions, two core sessions, plus water running and bike sessions. Recovery is essential given the intensity of my training schedule.
Looking Ahead
I am officially selected to represent Australia at my second Paralympic Games in the T38 100m and 400m! My primary goal is to compete at the 2024 Paralympic Games and continue inspiring the next generation of para-athletes. I believe in pushing boundaries and showing others that with determination and the right support, anything is possible.
We are incredibly excited to support Rhiannon on her journey and can't wait to see her compete in this year's Paris Paralympics. Welcome to the team, Rhiannon!
