The Macro Mission

Our Story

Macro Mike isn’t just a health food company, it’s a movement built on flavour, inclusivity and innovation. Founded in 2016 by Mike Kellett, the journey started from a personal place. Living with gluten and dairy intolerances, Mike was frustrated with the lack of products that actually tasted good. Most dairy free proteins were chalky and most gluten free snacks felt like cardboard.

What began as protein brownies and kitchen experiments quickly struck a chord. The early products gained traction online, building a community of people who wanted indulgent food without compromise. That demand fuelled the launch of Macro Mike’s smooth and creamy plant based proteins which proved that healthy, gut friendly products could also taste amazing.

Our Customers

Today Macro Mike has grown into a household name with more than 100 products available online, in supermarkets, health food and supplement stores nationwide and enjoyed by customers of all kinds.

Our products are no longer just for those with intolerances but loved by everyone. We’ve even teamed up with icons like Kellogg’s and Golden Gaytime to re imagine nostalgic favourites as premium proteins. From a one bedroom apartment to shelves across the country, our mission remains the same: to make healthy eating fun, flavour packed and accessible to all.

All our products are made in our 2000m² production facility on the Gold Coast where we employ 50 amazing staff who are passionate and motivated to get Macro Mike out there for all!

2016

Where It All Began 🧁

After years of managing gluten and dairy intolerances while competing in bodybuilding, Mike started experimenting with allergy-friendly treats he couldn’t find on the shelves. Sharing his creations on Instagram, he quickly realised there was a growing community looking for the same thing.

In October 2016, with just 100 handmade ‘Starter Packs’, Macro Mike launched pre-orders and by January 2017, the first customers had their orders in hand.

2018

Growing With Our Community 🚛

As word spread, we quickly outgrew several warehouse spaces, and every new product drop brought more excitement. We hit the road for expos, connected with customers face-to-face, and turned passion into momentum. Boxes turned into pallets, and we landed our first wholesale accounts, laying the foundation for something bigger.

2020

Resilience and Reinvention 🌏

The pandemic challenged everyone, but it also gave us a chance to innovate. We pivoted fast, expanded online, launched new products, and invested in scalable operations with our first custom production line.

It was also the year we welcomed our first brand ambassadors, Bree and Noa, who brought new energy to our community. Through uncertainty, we stayed focused and kept growing. We also had our first experience with supermarkets!

2023

A New Home and Clearer Vision 🏡

We moved into our new Gold Coast HQ, grew our internal team, and refined our brand and product strategy. Despite rising costs and the post-COVID landscape, we launched community-driven products, expanded our team culture, and brought home multiple local and national business awards. Our community continued to grow and so did our purpose.

2025

Celebrating Milestones, Fuelled by Community ✨

This year marked our partnership with Golden Gaytime by Streets/Unilever, an exciting milestone for us as a homegrown brand. We also launched our much-anticipated Kellogg's collaboration in September!

We introduced new Hero Boxes and Sample Packs to help new customers experience the range, and released some of our most-loved products to date. As we grow, our mission stays the same: to create inclusive, indulgent, better-for-you food that everyone can enjoy.
